Prof. Dr. Gilberto Câmara is the former Secretariat Director of GEO. He is a leading researcher in Geoinformatics, Geographical Information Science, and Land Use Change, formerly with Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE).
He has been recognized internationally for promoting free access and open source software for Earth observation data. Gilberto is currently working on R packages for satellite image time series analysis using Earth observation data cubes and is a member of the Brazil Data Cube team.
